Privacy Policy

At Reelful, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

Summary

We collect only what's necessary to provide our service. Your content remains yours. We use trusted third-party services for specific features and never sell your personal data. We do measure which ads bring people to Reelful — see section 4, and you can decline that when the app asks.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account and use Reelful, we collect:

  • Phone Number: Used for account authentication via SMS verification
  • Name: Your display name within the app
  • Voice Recording: Optional voice sample for creating your custom AI voice clone
  • Style Preferences: Your preferred content style (playful, professional, travel)

User Content

To provide our video creation service, we process:

  • Photos and Videos: Media files you upload for creating clips
  • Text Prompts: Descriptions and context you provide for your videos
  • Generated Content: AI-generated scripts, voiceovers, and final videos

Technical Information

  • Device Information: Device type and operating system for app optimization
  • Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens we use to deliver notifications about your projects (for example when a video is ready)
  • Analytics Events: Product analytics (such as screen views and feature usage) processed by Amplitude to improve the app. We do not record session replay or screen recordings of your app usage
  • Advertising and Attribution Data: If you allow tracking when the app asks, we collect your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) along with a device identifier generated by AppsFlyer, your IP address, and which advertising campaign led you to install Reelful. If you decline, no IDFA is collected and measurement falls back to Apple's privacy-preserving, aggregated SKAdNetwork reporting. See "Advertising and Measurement" below

Subscription & Payment Data

  • Subscription Status: Whether you have a free or premium account
  • Usage Metrics: Number of videos generated for managing your plan limits
  • Purchase History: Records of subscription and credit purchases (payment processing is handled by Apple/Google through RevenueCat)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Service: Process your media, generate scripts, create voiceovers, and render your videos
  • Authentication: Verify your identity via phone number
  • Voice Cloning: Create a custom AI voice from your voice sample
  • Notifications: Alert you when your videos are ready
  • Subscription Management: Track your usage and manage your plan
  • Service Improvement: Understand usage patterns to improve the app
  • Advertising Measurement: Understand which advertising campaigns bring people to Reelful, so we can stop paying for the ones that do not work

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to power specific features:

  • Twilio: SMS verification for secure authentication
  • ElevenLabs: Voice cloning and text-to-speech generation
  • FAL AI: Image animation and video generation
  • OpenAI/Anthropic: AI-powered script generation
  • Amazon S3: Secure cloud storage for your media files
  • RevenueCat: In-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat works with Apple App Store and Google Play to process payments; it provides us subscription status, purchase history, and related identifiers so we can unlock features and credit packs in the app. RevenueCat’s privacy policy describes how they handle that data
  • Convex: Our backend platform (database and server functions) that stores and processes account data, project metadata, usage limits, and related app state needed to run the service
  • Push notifications: We register your device for push notifications using Expo’s client libraries. On iOS, Apple Push Notification service (APNs) delivers notifications; on Android, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) may be used. We use your push token only to send operational notifications (for example when your video is ready), not for third-party ads
  • Amplitude: Product analytics so we can measure aggregate usage (such as which features are used) and improve stability and UX. We send event names and properties; we do not use Amplitude session replay in our mobile app
  • Expo: Development and runtime tooling used to build and run the app (including modules that interact with push notification services as described above)
  • AppsFlyer: Mobile attribution. AppsFlyer tells us which advertising campaign an install came from, and receives the app events described under "Advertising and Measurement" below, along with device and advertising identifiers where you have permitted them
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): Advertising. Meta receives measurement data about installs and in-app conversions from AppsFlyer, and our website loads the Meta Pixel as described below
  • Google Analytics: Aggregate traffic measurement on our website (not in the app)
  • Microsoft Clarity: Website heatmaps and session recordings on www.reelful.app (not in the app), so we can see how people navigate the marketing site

Each of these services has their own privacy policies and data handling practices. We encourage you to review their policies.

4. Advertising and Measurement

We advertise Reelful, and we measure whether that advertising works. This section explains exactly what that involves.

In the app

We use AppsFlyer as our measurement partner. On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow Reelful to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt).

  • If you allow it: we collect your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and share it, together with an AppsFlyer device identifier and your IP address, with AppsFlyer and — through AppsFlyer — with the advertising platform that showed you the ad, currently Meta
  • If you decline: no IDFA is collected. Measurement relies on Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports installs and a coarse conversion signal to advertising platforms in aggregate, without identifying you

You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

We share a small set of milestone events for measurement: opening the app, completing registration, finishing onboarding, starting a trial, and making a purchase. Purchase events include the amount and currency so we can measure return on ad spend. These events never include your phone number, your name, your prompts, your uploaded media, or your generated videos.

On our website

www.reelful.app loads the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. The Meta Pixel records page views and clicks on our App Store links, and allows Meta to show Reelful ads to people who have visited the site. Google Analytics measures aggregate traffic. Clarity records anonymized session replays and heatmaps of how visitors use the site. None of these is loaded on our legal pages any differently from the rest of the site, and you can block them with standard browser or extension-level tracking protection.

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure
  • Media files are stored with encryption on Amazon S3
  • We use industry-standard security practices
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account exists
  • Projects and Videos: Stored until you delete them or your account
  • Voice Recordings: Retained to maintain your custom voice clone

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Account Deletion

When you delete your account, we retain your phone number and credit/usage history to prevent abuse of our free tier. This data is used solely to restore your credit balance if you create a new account with the same phone number, and is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

7. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only:

  • With service providers who help us operate the app (as listed above)
  • To comply with legal obligations or valid legal requests
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you)

Internal Use for Service Improvement

We may analyze usage patterns, app performance data, and aggregated user behavior to improve our Service, fix bugs, and enhance features. This analysis is conducted internally. The only exception is the advertising measurement described in section 4: a small set of milestone events and, where you have permitted it, advertising identifiers are shared with AppsFlyer and Meta so we can tell which campaigns work. Your content, prompts, and generated videos are never part of that.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal information
  • Update: Correct or update your account information
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Voice Clone: Remove your custom voice clone
  • Notifications: Opt-out of push notifications through your device settings
  • Advertising Tracking: Allow or decline tracking when the app asks, and change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@reelful.app

9. Children's Privacy

Reelful is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using Reelful, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
